A study entitled ‘Preparation of Institutional and Good Governance Guidelines by Engaging Local Communities in Hydropower Development’ was conducted. The main objective of the study was to identify existing political, economic, social, technological and legal provisions for independent power producers in Nepal, finally recommending a set of operational guideline for effective policy response and institutionalization of good governance in the hydropower sector.

Studies were conducted through discussions, site-inspections, key informant interviews, FGDs and a series of workshop with different stakeholders including government officials, private producers, representatives of local representatives and communities to produce the IGGH-2018 Guideline Document.
